Ladies Club
Ladies President – Chris Stockey
Welcome to the 2011 Ladies Club golf season. We'd like to continue to grow the number of ladies who golf with us so please contact anyone on the executive if you have suggestions, questions or concerns.
NEW PLAYER CATEGORY! In an effort to encourage more players to join our weekly Tuesday Ladies events we have created a NEW PLAYER category. This category is for ladies who are new to our Tuesday Ladies events (members or non-members) and who have never had a handicap. Ladies in this category can take part in our Tuesday events and are eligible to play (for prizes) with other NEW PLAYERS. For more information or if you have any questions please contact Chris at 250-423-8062.
TUESDAY IS LADIES DAY
There is an organized morning and afternoon group, however, if these times don't work for you, book your own tee time, add your name to the signup sheet in the Pro Shop and pay for the event.
The weekly events are listed in the Fixture Sheet [pdf] and on the signup sheet. Your $4.00 fee includes the Deuce Pot Prize, Attendance Draw (am and pm players are included) and Event Prizes (one for each Handicap division). The Skins Game ($3.00) is optional – your gross/net scores will be entered into the Skins Game Binder each Tuesday – but you must pay for the event as well (can't only enter skins). The winners of the Attendance Draw will be announced Tuesday evening. The winners of the all day event will be emailed out and also posted on the board in the Ladies Locker the following Friday. Prizes can be picked up in the Pro Shop starting Friday.
Morning Play: If you wish to be part of the Morning Group, please put your name on the signup sheet in the Locker Room by Monday, in order to guarantee a tee time. Please meet in the Clubhouse on Tuesday morning, at least ½ hr. before the start time so that teams can be organized. May and September start at 10:00 am; June, July, August start at 9:00 am
Afternoon Play: If you have a partner or group already organized please call the Pro Shop to book a tee time. If you do not have a partner, we have block booked 3 or 4 tee times beginning at 3:00 for those ladies who would like to play in a group. Please call the Pro Shop and ask to be added to the Ladies afternoon group so we have an idea of how many tee times we'll need.
In order to raise funds for our Junior Golf Program we have designated hole # 3 as the Junior Bunker. If you land in either of the bunkers on hole number 3 you need to put a loonie into the Junior Bunker jar found on the counter in the Pro Shop. This is strictly voluntary, however, we would like ALL players (not just the ladies) to participate, contribute and have some fun at the same time. All proceeds go towards the Junior Golf Program.
Upcoming Events:
- August 15, Fernie Ladies Amateur Open
- August 16, East Kootenay Team Challenge
- September 6, Ladies Special (Luncheon)
- September
27, Ladies Closing Special
RULES, TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
NEW PLAYER (NP): A member or non-member, who has not played regularly and has never had a handicap. This individual may be a "New Player" for one season, however, if she obtains a handicap within the current season she will no longer be classified as a "New Player". This individual can then enter events under her official handicap category (see below).
CASUAL PLAYER: A member or non-member who does not have a handicap and who cannot qualify as a New Player (under the definition above). She cannot participate in any Ladies Club events but is eligible for the attendance draw if she puts her name down on the event sheet. Participation in the attendance draw is free.
SKINS EVENTS: A player must have a handicap in order to participate in Skins and they must also enter the event of the day.
DOUBLE ENTRY: On any one day, a player may choose to enter and pay for the ladies day events more than once. However, in all cases, results from the first round will be used for ladies club events.
