Please take a moment to review our No-Show & Cancellation Policy and other important things to know before booking a tee time. When making a booking at the Fernie Golf Club, you agree to ALL of the terms and conditions as outlined below.
No-Show tee times have become a challenge many golf courses are dealing with, including us right here at the Fernie Golf Club. A No-Show for a booked tee time has a significant impact on the courses you love to play, the golfers who you share the courses with, and ultimately, your own golfing experience. Our No-Show policy is not about penalizing anyone; it’s about promoting responsibility and ensuring that golf remains a vibrant and accessible sport for all. We understand life can be unpredictable, but a little consideration can go a long way in enhancing the golf experience for all golf fans. Let’s come together to preserve the traditions and the camaraderie that make the game of golf so special to all of us.
OFFICIAL COURSE NO-SHOW POLICY: A No-Show reservation is defined as any tee time that is not filled as it was reserved. No-Show penalties occur when a patron fails to honor a reservation made in their name. Individuals will be categorized as No-Show players if they meet the following criteria:
1. They do not cancel or modify their tee time 1 hour in advance or arrive with fewer than the number of players reserved without contacting the Pro Shop 1 hour in advance.
2. Full green fees will be charged for each player not canceled or modified 1 hour in advance before play is allowed.
– It will be up to the players in the group to get reimbursed by the absent golfer.
– You will then receive a rain-check for the total amount paid. Rain-checks expire one year from the date issued.
– It is permissible to leave a voicemail when canceling or modifying a tee time if the staff is unable to answer the phone.
When determining a No-Show reservation, the Pro Shop staff will have discretion in cases of emergencies or inclement weather.
Note: Groups of more than 8 players have a different No-Show Policy. The policy is laid out in the Group Contract which pertains to groups of more than 8 players.
OFFICIAL COURSE CANCELLATION POLICY: A Non-Cancellation reservation is defined as any tee time that is not filled as it was reserved. Non-Cancellation penalties occur when a patron fails to honor a reservation made in their name. A non-cancellation reservation will be subject to the criteria below:
1. When you make a reservation for a tee time at the Fernie Golf Club, you agree to our reservation and cancellation policies.
2. All tee times must be canceled 24 hours in advance of the tee time.
3. Cancellations made within 24 hours cannot be processed online. You must call the Pro Shop.
It is permissible to leave a voicemail when canceling or modifying a tee time if the staff is unable to answer the phone.
4. Same day cancellations within 1 hour of the booked tee time will be subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of the booked green fee rate.
– Fees will be charged to the credit card on file.
– You will then receive a rain-check for the total amount paid. Rain-checks expire one year from the date issued.
– You will not be charged if we can sell your canceled time.
It is permissible to leave a voicemail when canceling or modifying a tee time if the staff is unable to answer the phone.
*A credit card will be required for all reservations. Green fees will be processed the day of play.
Pace of Play:
Keep up to the group in front and maintain a pace that enables 4 hours and 10 minutes. Groups that cannot maintain the correct pace are asked not to let other groups through, but to pick up and move ahead to the correct position.
Dress Code:
Appropriate golf attire must always be worn as defined below.
* Men s shirts must have sleeves. Golf shoes or running shoes only, no bare feet.
(No rude or crude messages, no halter tops, muscle shirts, flip flops or bathing suit attire.)
* The Pro Shop staff will be instructed to enforce the dress code.
Alcohol on the Course:
Liquor license restrictions state that alcoholic beverages must be purchased from the bar, halfway house or beverage cart. Golfers are not permitted to bring their own alcoholic beverages onto FGC property. Alcohol is not permitted in the parking lot. The Fernie Golf Club does not approve of excessive drinking on the golf course. Anyone considered by the course marshal or any club official to be affecting the enjoyment of others while playing golf will be requested to leave the golf course.
Weather Policy:
The Fernie Golf Club does not possess an inclement weather warning system. Golfers are advised that play is at their own risk and discretion and that the club is under no obligation to warn, retrieve, and/or remove anyone from the golf course due to inclement weather, including the risk of lightning. Golfers may suspend their round at any time upon their determination of the danger of existing, impending or threatened inclement weather and, in such case, should return immediately to the proshop or seek shelter, depending on the conditions. Green fee-paying public may be eligible for a rain check but there is no refund of paid green fees.
